In order for the DashCam to be operational, it requires a 3.7V DC adapter with power running through to be connected at all times. If mounted in a car, the camera will start up when the engine is started.
When the DashCam is operational, the Blue Battery LED and Green Wi-Fi LED will be solid when starting up.
When booted up, A Red LED will indicate that recording has started. A voice can be heard to let you know that normal recording has started.
You can also test by operating the camera by pressing the shutter button (camera logo) on the button panel to take a picture. A camera shutter can be sound to indicate that a photo has been taken.
Please ensure that the camera is connected to a power source when using.

The DashCam will power off when the engine is turned off when mounted in a car.
You can alternatively pull the DC adapter out to switch off the camera and stop recording.

If you are using the camera for the first time, please ensure that a blank memory card is inserted before use.
Next insert the Power adapter and the Camera should automatically startup.
The Cameras LED will light up GREEN initially to indicate that the device is starting eventually turning RED when Recording has begun.

The DashCam Wi-Fi has different LED Lights which indicate different functions found within the camera.
GREEN LED: Camera is in standby mode and ready to be used.
RED LED: Camera is recording if being operated.
PURPLE LED: Event Recording has begun.
GREEN Wi-Fi LED: Wi-Fi has begun and ca be connected to a mobile device.
ORANGE GPS LED: Camera is collecting GPS data while recording.
Blinking RED LED: Indicates that memory card is full
Blinking RED/BLUE LED: Indicates that there is no memory card inserted or card is not compatible with device.*
*Please ensure that you are using Memory Card Class 6 or above with Maximum 32GB Storage. It is also recommended to Format your Memory Card before use.

Wi-Fi is only available with our “DashCam Wi-Fi” model
Our regular DashCam is not compatible with mobile devices.
DashCam App is currently available on both iOS & Android Platforms and can be downloaded from the relevant store by searching for “iON DashCam”
Once installed you will need to:
-Power on DashCam
-Hold the Wi-Fi button on button until you hear “Wi-Fi Start up” accompanied by a GREEN LED.
-Within Phone settings, find available Wi-Fi Network “DashCam Wi-Fi”
-Enter Password “123456789”
You should now be connected to the network and can access the camera remotely through the installed iON DashCam app.

Head over to the Downloads Section of our website to download the latest Firmware for your Camera.
PC:
-Insert your memory card and power your iON product.
-Connect to your PC using the USB cable provided with your product.
-Open your device in the device explorer
-Drag & Drop the downloaded file onto the root of your Device.
-Close all windows.
-Select (eject) device safely and select your iON camera.
-Your iON camera LED will flash green and red. Do not interrupt this process.
-When the camera stop flashing wait another 30 seconds and disconnect USB.
-Your camera is now updated and ready to use with the newest firmware
MAC:
-Make sure your iON camera is fully charged.
-Insert your memory card and power your iON product.
-Connect your camera directly to your MAC. Do not connect to USB hubs, keyboard or monitor.
-Your iON will show on your desktop as (NO NAME).
-Select iON DashCam MAC version and confirm download.
-Once download is complete, move file to the root directly of your iON cameras memory, (NO NAME).
-Select (eject) device.
-Disconnect the USB from back of iON camera. Your iON camera LED will flash green and red.
-Do not interrupt this process.
-When the camera stop flashing wait another 30 seconds.
-Your camera is now updated and ready to use with the newest firmware.

In order for your camera to connect, you must have a memory card inserted into the MicroSD port.
Please ensure that you are using Memory Card Class 6 or above with Maximum 32GB capacity.

If you are unable to play back your videos it may be due to your media player being out of date.
We recommend using VLC media player for movie playback as this supports all types of files.

Please ensure that the Camera Is fully charged and is switched on.
When Powered On: Tap once on the Shutter button on the top of the camera.
The Camera will make a shutter noise and the LED will blink to indicate that a photo has been taken.
Please ensure that you are using Memory Card Class 6 or above with Maximum 32GB capacity.

DashCam: You can set the DashCam’s Time & Date in the On-screen Settings. Go to General>Date/Time
DashCam Wi-Fi: Date & Time settings can be managed by accessing the app on your mobile device and going to Settings>General>Date/Time.

In order for your camera to operate, you must have a memory card inserted into the MicroSD port found on the side of the device.
A Red Blinking Light Indicates that the Memory Card you are using is full so will need to either clear memory or use another Memory Card.
A Red/Blue Blinking Light indicates that there is no memory card intact or the memory card you are using is not compatible with the device.
Please ensure that you are using Memory Card Class 6 or above with Maximum 32GB Storage.
It is recommended to Format your Memory Card before use.

For iOS users, go to the AppStore and search “iON DashCam”.
Android users, go to the Google PlayStore and search “iON DashCam”.
Simply install the app ready for use with your DashCam Camera.

When Connected to DashCam app, please ensure you there is no distance greater than 10m between the DashCam and Mobile Device.
You may need to upgrade your Firmware if the problem still persists.
